MINUTES OF SELECTMEN’S MEETING
August 19, 2009
1. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Chairman Hal Ferguson at
7:00pm. Selectman Rick Micklon was present and Leonard Adler was absent.
2. SECRETARY'S REPORT:
A. On a motion by RM, 2nd by HF, ALL voted to accept the minutes from August 05,
2009 as amended (remove ground work has been started on Gore Station)
3. SPECIAL EVENTS
A. Ellen Attaliades President of Saturday Pond Watershed Association gave a
brief report of the watershed survey. The report can viewed on their web
B. John Mahoney AVCOG - Gave a brief report about the Comprehensive Plan and
the Required Elements.
C. Tom Moore MSAD Representative -Update that Otisfield Community School
has 4 water coolers, 2 in front hall and one in rear hall. One cooler is
handicap access. BOS asked Tom if library rug done at school, Tom will get back
answer. Tom will see that BOS get a copy of the school broad agenda.
RM asked about the air quality in Otisfield Community School
Tom will speak to David Mashall about the air and get back to the BOS.
4. COMMITTEE REPORTS:

5. DEPARTMENT HEADS:
A. None.
6. QUESTIONS/COMMENTS FROM PUBLIC:
A. None.
7. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT ITEMS:
A. None.
8. ADJUSTMENTS TO AGENDA:
A. None.
9. UNFINISHED:
A. BOS reviewed the application for the road study committee, will
discuss with full board.
B. Jane Frazer Brown appointed by BOS for Job Description Committee.
RM motion - HF 2nd - Unanimous
C. Vault HVAC-No Update.
D. Gore and East Otisfield Fire Stations - storm water runoff, have Ross
Cudlitz put a PBR together to submit to DEP for approval. Then town
will put job out for bids.
E. Underground service at Town Office, BOS wants a second bid as
the first on high side. Have community hall looked at for electric outlets.
F. Tax Acquired property - Still waiting for the attorney.
10. SELECTMEN'S ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED & VOTED ON,
A. On a motion by RM 2nd by HF all voted to sign warrant #3 to pay the town bills.
B. Heniger Park ok to put update letter out.
C. BOS approval BYOB Fire Harvest Dance, Motion by HF, 2nd by RM all in favor.
11. QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM BOARD
A. Check from bulk waste not in yet.
B. BOS would have Ross Cudlitz look at sand shed. Then come back to BOS
with a design, so can go out to bid.
C. BOS explain to resident who Ross Cudlitz was.
D. Hal stated that Eric will let MIM know about roof at transfer station.
E. Hal -Town House - Henry Hamilton should have a quit-claim deed by end Aug.
F. Hal and Rick will do a walk thru Town House to take digital picture of the
building inside and outside. Town has a record of the condition of the building.
G. Town did not pay for potty with Oxford.
H. BOS wants to sit down with Recreation Director to see what can be done.
I. Beach signs- May be cheaper to replace them.
J. A person from Beach Road illegal dumped his portable potty wastes in the
town's portable potty.
K. A person was parking in a no parking area at beach. She was asked to moved
by beach attendant, the person gave the attendant trouble.
L. BOS spoke to the beach attendants about writing down plate number of
people without beach sticker.
M. BOS wanted to know if a letter was written to Otisfield resident about a
a beach sticker. No letter written.
12. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 PM. HF/RM-Unanimous
